Tennis Lessons in Somerton Park
Sunrise Tennis runs junior tennis lessons in Somerton Park for ages 3 to 18, at Somerton Park Tennis Club on Wilton Avenue. We coach the full game-based Hot Shots pathway — from soft-ball Blue Ball for toddlers to full-court Yellow Ball squads — a short drive for families right across the Holdfast Bay coast.
Our home at Somerton Park Tennis Club
We coach at Somerton Park Tennis Club, a community club tucked just back from the coast at 40 Wilton Ave. The courts give us room to run everything from soft-ball Blue Ball games for toddlers to full-court Yellow Ball squads, often side by side. It is an unhurried, friendly setting — the kind of local club where coaches know the families and kids feel at home from their first session.
Easy to get to from the southern beaches
Somerton Park sits between Glenelg and Brighton, so we are a short drive for families across the western and southern suburbs. Most of our players come from Glenelg, Brighton, Seacliff, Morphettville and the wider Holdfast Bay area. There is on-street parking around the club, and Jetty Road Glenelg is only minutes away if you want to make an afternoon of it.

Programs at Somerton Park
We run the full junior pathway here, with a level for every age and stage:
- Blue Ball · Ages 3-5Playful first steps on court — soft balls, short racquets, all through games.
- Red Ball · Ages 5-8Game-based foundations on a junior court — rally and score from day one.
- Orange Ball · Ages 8-10A bigger court, real rallies and the first proper tactics and match play.
- Green Ball · Ages 10-12The move to the full court — point construction and competitive play.
- Yellow Ball · Ages 12+Full-court, full-speed squads — match strategy and performance training.
